Spherical Rod Ends Where Full Cylinder Force Meets the Frame

Profab Machine supplies the rod ends at cylinder pivots and valve linkages across industrial systems. These joints carry full actuator force through oil leaks, salt and moisture without bending a piston rod.
The Pivot That Swings With Every Stroke
Every hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder swings on a pivot as it strokes. The rod end at that pivot carries the full actuator force while the cylinder changes angle. A joint that rusts, binds or develops slop pushes side load into the rod and wrecks the seals. Control valves use smaller rod ends to connect actuators to spools, where the demand flips: tiny travel, tight tolerances, zero lash.
- Rod ends at cylinder pivots — unlined metal to metal joints allow higher static stress than PTFE lined ones of the same race material. That reserve matters when the cylinder works at full pressure.
- Rod ends at valve linkages — small PTFE liner joints hold zero lash, so every actuator step reaches the spool.
Valve Actuation and Steering Linkages
- Steering linkages — marine and industrial steering rams push through rod ends in 17-4PH. Zero play keeps directional control tight.
- Pressure compensation — large frameworks such as solar trackers and tide gates expand and contract through rod ends without losing hydraulic alignment.
Oil, Salt and Moisture on the Pivot
- Lubrication options — greasable joints for the high-load points. Hydraulic fluid leaks wash grease out, so joints that sit wet with oil get dry PTFE liners or a set regrease schedule.
- Corrosion resistance — 304 housing as standard. 316L where salt or outdoor moisture is constant. 17-4PH H900 for steering and articulation loads.
- Stainless throughout — housing, ball and shank all in stainless. No rust on the pin, no binding at the pivot.
Send Us the Bore, Pressure and Stroke
Send us the cylinder bore, working pressure and stroke geometry. We rate each joint against that force instead of guessing. Every case starts with a real mechanical challenge. Talk to Profab Machine to begin your project.
Common type
Rod ends for hydraulic and pneumatic systems: CM / CF series for cylinder pivots, JMX / JFX series for valve actuation, XM / XF series in 17-4PH for steering. Sizes M50.8 to M362.0 are the usual range.
Application
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems: cylinder clevis and pivot mounts, valve actuation, steering and articulation linkages, pressure compensation frameworks, etc.
