Applications

Profab Machine machines stainless steel rod ends, ball joints and spherical bearings for automotive, marine, food and industrial equipment builders. Every joint starts from your drawing or sample, in 304, 316L or 17-4PH, with threads from M5 to M48. Since 2005, we have supplied linkages for seeders, filling lines, yachts, hydraulic cylinders and position sensors. Our joints run where ordinary steel fails, in salt spray, hot CIP washdown, fertilizer dust and exhaust heat. You get a joint rated for the environment it actually works in, machined to your spec, at factory-direct pricing.

A Filling Line Runs on Dry Stainless Rod Ends

Profab Machine supplies the rod ends that drive filling machine nozzles, pistons and valves. These joints run dry through thousands of cycles per shift and hot CIP chemicals between runs.

The Nozzle Lift That Never Crashes a Container

A filling machine lifts and lowers its nozzles to match each container, then doses the product and retracts. Rod ends sit in the linkage between the actuators and the nozzle assembly, so the vertical motion stays smooth and the nozzle never crashes a container. Dosing pistons connect to their drives through more joints, which keep the piston rod aligned so side load never reaches the seals. Between runs, CIP sprays hot caustic and nitric acid over the whole zone.

  • Rod ends in the nozzle lift linkage — grease near open product is a contamination risk, so the joints run dry on PTFE liners.
  • Rod ends at the pistons and valves — thousands of cycles per shift demand zero lash. The liner holds it with no upkeep.

Dosing Pistons and Adjustable Guides

  • Piston and dosing mechanisms — the joint keeps the piston rod aligned during repeated strokes, cutting side load and seal wear.
  • Adjustable guides — rod ends let guide assemblies reposition for different container sizes and still move freely in operation.

CIP Chemicals and Food Zone Hygiene

  • Lubrication options — dry PTFE liner joints inside the product zone. Greasable joints stay inside enclosed drive housings only.
  • Corrosion resistance — 316L housing where washdown water carries chlorides. Uses FDA 21 CFR-compliant, high-temp CIP-grade PTFE liners engineered to resist caustic/acid cycles up to 85°C without bond failure.
  • Stainless throughout — housing, ball and shank all in stainless. No plating flakes to find their way into product.
