Application
Applications of Stainless Heim Joints in Air Seeders
Row Unit Parallel Linkage
The air seeder uses a parallel linkage system to ensure that each row unit maintains a consistent seeding depth even on uneven terrain. Heim joints are located at the pivot points of the linkages. They provide smooth vertical movement. As the seeder crosses rough ground, these bearings compensate for lateral torsional forces.
Down-Pressure Control Systems
When operating in hard soil, hydraulic cylinders apply downforce to the row units. These heim joints connect the cylinders to the frame. They can prevent piston rod bending and seal leakage.
Folding Frame Mechanisms
Large air seeders feature wide wingspans that must be folded for transport. Heavy-duty rod ends are integrated into the folding cylinders and pivot arms. They can handle substantial structural loads and ensure precise alignment when the machine is deployed in the field.
Metering Drive Linkages
Heim joints ensure that, even under high-frequency vibrations, the seeder’s metering system maintains precise timing and opening control.
