Stainless Steel Two-Piece Rod Ends

Stainless steel rod ends with the ball bore axis offset laterally from the shank thread centreline — the head is positioned to one side of the shank rather than centred on it. The offset geometry moves the pivot point away from the thread axis, which allows the designer to change effective link length or correct a geometric mismatch between the thread mounting point and the required pivot location without modifying the surrounding structure. Body in 316L; ball in 440C stainless at HRC 58; PTFE liner or metal-to-metal contact available. Offset dimension and thread size specified at order. Note: the offset transfers bending moment into the shank under radial load — the shank must be sized for the combined bending and tensile stress at the specified load and offset distance. Applications:

Steering linkages where the ball pivot must align with a specific kingpin axis that doesn’t coincide with the thread mounting position, actuator end fittings where a clearance constraint requires the pivot point to be moved off-centre, and custom machinery linkages where geometry optimisation requires offset rather than modifying the frame or bracket. Also used in agricultural implement connections where the hitch point geometry is fixed and the rod end must conform to it.
