Stainless Steel Self-Lubricating Rod Ends
304 and 316L stainless steel rod ends with PTFE composite liners. The liner runs dry from –54°C to +163°C at a friction coefficient of 0.03–0.15, eliminating the grease zerk and the service interval that comes with it. Body in 304 or 316L; ball in 440C stainless at HRC 58. Available in male and female threads, metric M5–M36 and inch, right-hand and left-hand thread. Bore sizes from 5mm to 50mm. The PTFE liner absorbs the first 500–1000 cycles of break-in wear, then stabilises — after that point, wear rate drops to near-nominal for the rated service life.
Applications:
For linkages and actuation systems where re-lubrication access is impractical, impossible, or unsafe — food processing conveyor drives, pharmaceutical equipment, enclosed automation, and marine controls where the joint is submerged or in continuous spray. Also suited to food-contact areas where grease contamination of the product stream is a compliance risk, since the self-lubricating liner carries no grease to migrate.
