Spray Balls Supplier
Stainless Steel Spray Balls Manufacturer in China

A stainless steel spray ball is a CIP device mounted inside tanks, vessels, and reactors to deliver high-velocity jets of cleaning solution across all interior surfaces — without disassembly. The spray ball connects to your CIP supply line via an NPT thread or Tri-Clamp ferrule and is engineered to deliver a specific spray pattern matched to your tank geometry.
Profab fully supports custom OEM spray ball manufacturing. We machine to your STEP, DXF, or PDF drawing — including custom ball diameters, orifice count and diameter, spray angles, connection types, and surface finishes. Send your drawing and receive a detailed quote within 24 hours.
- 316L SS — resists caustic, acidic, and chlorinated CIP chemicals
- Electropolished interior & exterior — Ra ≤ 0.8 μm, 3-A compliant
- Fixed (static) and rotary (rotating) types
- Custom dimensions and OEM labeling available
Product Range
Types of Stainless Steel Spray Balls
Choose the right CIP spray ball type for your tank geometry, soil load, and flow requirements. Profab machines both types to order.

Static / No Moving Parts
Fixed Spray Ball
A hollow sphere with precision-drilled nozzles delivering cleaning solution in a fixed pattern — 180° up, 180° down, or full 360°. No moving parts means maximum reliability and easy CIP validation.
| Pressure range | 1–5 bar (15–70 psi) |
| Spray coverage | 180° or 360° fixed pattern |
| Tank diameter | Up to 4 m (13 ft) |
| Material | 304 or 316L stainless steel |
| Nozzle count | 6–24 per ball, custom drilling |
| Orifice diameter | 0.5–2 mm |

Rotating / Full 360° Sweep
Rotary Spray Ball
Fluid-driven rotation (1–30 RPM) provides continuous 360° sweeping coverage — eliminating shadow zones behind agitators, baffles, and sensors. Ideal for heavy soil removal in large tanks.
| Pressure range | 2–10 bar (30–145 psi) |
| Rotation speed | 1–30 RPM (fluid-driven) |
| Tank diameter | Up to 10 m (33 ft) |
| Material | 316L stainless steel (standard) |
| Bearings | SS, self-lubricating by process fluid |
| Coverage | Full 360° continuous sweep |
Material Specification
Choosing the Right Grade
304 Stainless
Standard grade for indoor machinery, automation, and dry or mildly humid environments. Good resistance to cleaning chemicals. Cost-effective for high-volume orders. Not suitable for continuous salt spray or chloride-heavy process environments.
Food · Automation · Indoor
316 / 316L
Marine and food-grade standard. 2–3% molybdenum addition raises chloride pitting resistance significantly above 304. Required for outdoor, marine, offshore, and food equipment with CIP chemical cleaning. Especially 316 stainless steel has excellent resistance to corrosive saltwater effects.
Marine · Chemical · Pumps
17-4PH
Precipitation-hardened martensitic grade. ≥ 1,310 MPa tensile strength in H900 condition — significantly stronger than 316 at equivalent cross-section. Specified for ball joints in motorsport, aerospace, and high-cycle fatigue applications where load ratings are the primary constraint.

Applications
Where Stainless Steel Spray Balls Are Used
CIP spray balls are critical wherever tanks and vessels must be cleaned to validated hygienic standards without disassembly.
01

Brewing & Craft Beer
Fermenters, bright tanks, conditioning vessels, and brite tanks require reliable 360° CIP cleaning. Rotary spray balls cut cleaning time by up to 40% vs. manual scrubbing.
02

Dairy Processing
Milk silos, pasteurizers, yogurt tanks, and cheese vats. 316L SS spray balls with electropolished finish meet 3-A Sanitary Standards for direct-product-contact surfaces.
03

Food & Beverage
Juice, soda, sauce, and concentrate processing tanks. Static spray balls handle light residues; rotary models tackle thick syrups, starches, and tomato paste.
04

Pharmaceutical
API reactors, buffer prep tanks, and WFI vessels. Fixed spray balls with zero dead-leg design, full CIP validation documentation, and Ra ≤ 0.4 μm finishes available.
05

Winemaking
Fermentation vats, blending tanks, and storage vessels. Rotary spray balls provide complete coverage in tall, narrow wine tanks where fixed patterns leave shadow zones.
06

Chemical Processing
Reactor vessels, mixing tanks, and storage containers for corrosive or hazardous fluids. 316L SS construction resists caustic (NaOH), nitric acid (HNO₃), and phosphoric acid.

FAQ
Common Questions
Not seeing your question? Email us at [email protected] and we typically reply same day.
What is the difference between a fixed and rotary spray ball?
A fixed (static) spray ball has no moving parts and delivers cleaning solution through pre-angled holes in a set pattern (180° or 360°). A rotary spray ball spins as fluid flows through it, sweeping 360° continuously to eliminate shadow zones behind agitators and baffles. Fixed is simpler and lower cost; rotary handles larger tanks and heavier soils.
What connection types are available?
Profab spray balls are available with Tri-Clamp (TC) ferrule connections in 1.5″, 2″, and 3″ sizes, NPT threaded connections (male or female, 1/2″–1″), BSP/BSPP thread, and socket-weld ends. Custom connection types including DIN, SMS, IDF, and flanged ends are machined to your drawing.
What surface finish do Profab spray balls have?
Standard Profab spray balls are electropolished inside and outside to a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.8 μm, meeting 3-A Sanitary Standards for food-contact surfaces. A finer electropolish to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm is available for pharmaceutical applications. Passivation per ASTM A967 is included as standard.
