Stainless Steel Bushing Supplier
Stainless Steel Bushings Manufacturer in China

The core function of stainless steel bushings is to reduce friction between two moving parts and prevent wear. They are primarily used to provide the necessary support and guide movement in mechanical systems. A minimum of 10.5% chromium content in stainless steel creates a self-repairing oxide layer on the surface. This provides the bushing with unrivaled protection. The self-lubricating properties and multi-layer compound construction also make stainless steel bushings suitable for use in harsh environments.
Profab Machine is a professional stainless steel bushing processing factory. We offer various types of stainless steel bushings, such as Flange Bushings, Ball Bushings, Grooved Bushings, Composite Bushings, 304 Stainless Hex Bushings, 316 Stainless Hex Bushings, and so on.
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- High hardness and low coefficient of friction

Product Range
Types of Profab Stainless Steel Bushings
All types are available in custom ID, OD, and length. Send your drawing or specify dimensions at time of enquiry.
// 01

Plain Sleeve Bushing
A simple cylindrical tube with a precision-bored ID and turned OD. Installed by press-fit into a housing bore, providing a running surface for a shaft or pin. The most widely used bushing type. Available in 304, 316L, and 17-4PH for high-strength applications.
// 02

Flanged Bushing
A sleeve bushing with an integral flange at one end. The flange locates the bushing axially within the housing, preventing push-through under axial loads, and provides a bearing surface for thrust loads. Ideal for hinge pins, pivot points, and applications where the bushing must resist both radial and axial loading.
// 03

Grooved Bushing
Features circumferential or helical oil grooves machined into the bore surface. Grooves distribute lubricant evenly around the shaft, extending service life in greasable applications. Used in agricultural machinery, conveyor systems, and rotating equipment where periodic re-lubrication is part of the maintenance schedule.
// 04

Composite Bushing
A multi-layer construction combining a stainless steel backing with a low-friction inner liner (typically PTFE composite). Provides dry-running capability with no lubrication required — ideal for food processing, pharmaceutical, and outdoor equipment.
// 05

304 Stainless Hex Bushing
A hex-body threaded reducer fitting that connects two pipes or hoses of different sizes. Machined from 304 stainless steel for general-purpose industrial and light corrosion environments. Available in NPT and BSP thread forms.
// 06

316 Stainless Hex Bushing
The same hex reducer configuration as above but manufactured from 316 stainless steel with 2% molybdenum addition. Provides superior chloride and saltwater resistance — the standard choice for marine, chemical, and offshore process piping.

Bore Fit Selection Guide
H6
Tight precision fit. Used for high-speed, high-load rotating shafts requiring minimum radial clearance. Requires precise shaft tolerance (h5 or g5 shaft).
H7
Standard precision fit. Suitable for most industrial rotating and oscillating applications. Works with h6, g6, or f7 shaft tolerance. Default for Profab bushings ID ≥ 18 mm.
H8
Medium clearance fit. Suitable for slow-speed rotation, oscillating motion, and non-rotating pivot pins. Default for ID < 18 mm. Easier to install than H7.
H11
Wide clearance fit. Suitable for spacers, standoffs, and applications where angular misalignment or thermal expansion must be accommodated. No precision shaft required.

Material Specification
304, 316L, or 17-4PH — Matching Grade to Environment
304 Stainless
The standard austenitic grade for bushings in non-marine, non-chemical environments. Excellent machinability allows tight bore tolerances at competitive cost. Suitable for food equipment, automation, and indoor industrial applications.
Food · Automation · Indoor
316 / 316L
The specified grade for bushings in salt spray, seawater, and chloride-rich environments. The 2–3% molybdenum addition raises pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) to ≥ 24 — well above the 304 threshold. Essential for marine fittings, valves, pump trims, and outdoor installations. Especially 316 stainless steel has excellent resistance to corrosive saltwater effects.
Marine · Chemical · Pumps
17-4PH
Precipitation-hardened martensitic grade achieving ≥ 1,310 MPa tensile strength in H900 condition. Specified for bushings in high-load, small-envelope applications where a 304 or 316L bushing would be too large to achieve the required load capacity. Used in aerospace, motorsport, and precision industrial machinery.

Applications
Where Stainless Steel Bushings Are Used
Due to their excellent corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, and ability to operate in wet or chemically aggressive environments, stainless bushings are specified across industries where carbon steel or bronze alternatives would corrode or contaminate.
01

Marine & Offshore
316L bushings for anti-corrosion sliding positions, marine fittings, valves, and pump trims. They ensure long life for fittings in harsh marine environments where galvanic corrosion with aluminium structures is a design concern.
02

Automotive & Motorsport
Stainless bushings in the suspension systems of cars and trucks reduce friction and wear between components, contributing to vehicle performance and durability. 17-4PH for high-load suspension pivot pins where envelope is constrained.
03

Medical & Surgical
Due to their excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, stainless bushings are a trusted component in surgical instruments and medical devices. 316L is compliant with ISO 5832-1 biocompatibility requirements for implant-adjacent hardware.
04

Chemical Processing
Stainless steel bushings are able to withstand a wide range of acids and alkalis without degradation. Typically used in hydraulic valves for acid and alkali flow measurement, ensuring reliable performance in highly corrosive chemical processing environments.
05

Food & Beverage
304 and 316L bushings for conveyor line pivot pins, filling machine guides, and packaging machinery. NSF compliant when electropolished. No lubricant contamination risk with PTFE-lined variants — critical for hygienic zone assemblies.
06

Industrial Machinery
Usage scenarios range from pumps, motors, and conveyor systems to metallurgical continuous casting machines, steel rolling equipment, mining machinery, steam turbines, and injection molding machines — wherever wear life in demanding conditions is the primary design requirement.
