Aerospace Applications

Flight Systems

Flight Systems

Flight-critical stainless steel linkage and structural components must deliver consistent performance across the full service life of the aircraft. Spherical bearings in landing gear subassemblies, rod ends in control surfaces, and clevis connections in actuator linkages all require high fatigue resistance and precision dimensional consistency confirmed by documented inspection.

Ground & Auxiliary Systems

Ground support equipment, transportation fixtures, and base station accessories require quick disassembly, high positioning accuracy, and corrosion-resistant hardware built for outdoor and hangar environments. Antenna deployment mechanisms using rod ends and clevis assemblies must operate reliably across thousands of cycles with no positional drift.

Ground & Auxiliary Systems

Satellite & Space Systems

Satellite and space-grade stainless components must survive launch vibration loads, vacuum-ultraviolet radiation, and extreme thermal cycling between −180°C and +150°C without outgassing, dimensional drift, or fatigue failure. Every component requires documented material certification and CMM-verified dimensional inspection before shipment.

Material Specification

Aerospace Grade Stainless Steel We Work With

316 / 316L Stainless Steel

Standard corrosion-resistant alloy for aerospace structural connections, ground support equipment, and fluid-system components. Molybdenum content improves resistance to pitting in humid or chemically exposed environments. 316L preferred for welded assemblies to prevent sensitization.

Ground Equipment

Fluid Systems

17-4PH Stainless Steel

Precipitation-hardened stainless delivering approximately double the yield strength of 316L while maintaining good corrosion resistance. The standard choice for flight-critical linkage components — rod ends, clevis forks, spherical bearings, and actuator shafts — where strength-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability are both critical.

Flight Controls

Landing Gear

Duplex 2205

Dual ferritic-austenitic microstructure with higher yield strength and superior stress corrosion cracking resistance versus 316L. Suitable for high-load structural brackets, offshore-deployed aerospace ground systems, and components subject to sustained tensile stress in corrosive environments.

FAQ

Questions from Aerospace OEM Procurement Teams

Have a technical question not covered here? Send your drawings directly and our engineering team will review your application and provide a detailed quotation.

Which materials are suitable for high temperature and high pressure aerospace parts?

High strength and heat resistant stainless steels such as 17-4PH, Inconel, and Titanium alloys are recommended and have been widely used in engine and propulsion system components.

316L stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance and good machinability, but its yield strength (around 170–310 MPa annealed) is insufficient for high-load flight-critical linkage applications. 17-4PH in condition H900 delivers yield strength exceeding 1170 MPa — making it the standard choice for aerospace rod ends, clevis forks, and spherical bearings that must combine high mechanical performance with corrosion resistance. We recommend 17-4PH for all flight-critical motion and load-transfer components.
