Thread Nightmare Turned Success

Thread Nightmare Turned Success

In January 2024, Profab received an order for 1500 pieces of M27 x 2.0 stainless steel sensor adapters from Alessandro Bianchi, a customer in Turin, Italy. After processing the first 200 pieces, the inspection found that 40% of the pieces failed due to burrs or incomplete threads, and the non-standard threads required special taps, which we did not have in stock at the moment, and with a 15-day lead time for new tools purchased in Europe, the delivery time was only 3 weeks left.

Profab quickly launched an internal attack: with the CNC lathe in the tool room of the workshop, we independently designed and ground a special tap to match the thread; at the same time, we reworked the first batch of defective parts and set up an on-line inspection on the production line to ensure that each piece of thread, finish and size fully meets the standard.

Through this series of urgent measures, we completed the machining, testing and packaging of all 1,500 pieces by 27 January and sent them out on time. alessandro exclaimed: ‘I have worked with countless Chinese factories, and you are the first to take real responsibility, which is worthy of respect!’
